Second round

The teams from the Axpo Super League could not meet. If a team was in a lower league, it was given home advantage, otherwise the team drawn first.

Due to disputes in the first round match between FC Alle and Wacker Grenchen, both teams were excluded from the Swiss Cup. However, the appeal was accepted by FC Alle, which was allowed to continue to participate in the cup. The game took place a week and a half later than all other games because of the late decision.

Round of 16

The matches were drawn by lots, everyone could meet anyone. If a team was in a lower league, it was given home advantage, otherwise the team drawn first. Since the game between FC Gossau and BSC Young Boys had to be postponed due to snow and the Gossau stadium did not have the necessary infrastructure for night games with TV recordings, the game was played in the Stade de Suisse . In addition, the game could not be endangered by further snowfall. The game between La-Chaux-de-Fonds and Lucerne took place in the Maladière for similar reasons .
