The Stade de la Maladière is a football stadium in Neuchâtel . Until the end of January 2012, it was the home stadium of the bankrupt Swiss football club Neuchâtel Xamax , which up to that point had played in the Super League . The successor club Neuchâtel Xamax 1912 was officially presented on April 14, 2012. FC Biel-Bienne also played temporarily on the Maladière because the Gurzelen stadium was not granted a license. The stadium can hold a maximum of 12,500 spectators and has 10 boxes and 200 business seats. It was completed in 2007 and cost over CHF 200 million. It replaces the old La Maladière stadium , which was built in 1924 and held 22,130 spectators.

The Maladière complex also has a shopping center (25,000 m 2 ) operated by Coop , a fire station (11,000 m 2 ), 6 sports halls (3,000 m 2 ) and an underground car park with 930 parking spaces.
