Pablo Aguilar Bermúdez (born February 9, 1989 in Granada ) is a Spanish basketball player . He plays in the position of the power forward .

career

Pablo Aguilar began his career in Real Madrid's youth . On September 30, 2006, he made his debut in the ACB league against Unicaja at the age of just 17 . This season he won both the Spanish championship and the ULEB Cup with Real Madrid , but Aguilar only came to sporadic appearances in the first team and mostly played for the club's second team. In the 2007-08 season he won the Spanish U-20 championship and was voted MVP of the tournament. In the summer of 2008, the club decided to give it to CB Granada , but they kept a buyback option. Aguilar's breakthrough came in the 2009/10 season, when he was a regular at Granada in the position of power forward. In the summer of 2010, Real Madrid made use of the buy-back option, but loaned it to CAI Saragossa for a year . Aguilar then signed a contract with the Aragonese until 2014 . In the summer of 2013, Aguilar moved to Valencia Basket Club within the ACB league .

National team

Aguilar played for the Spanish national team as a junior. With the U-16 selection, he won the bronze medal at the 2005 European Championships. He also took third place with the U-18 team in 2006 and with the U-20 at the continental tournaments in 2008 and 2009. On June 23, 2010, Aguilar was in the provisional 15-man squad for national coach Sergio Scariolo appointed the 2010 Basketball World Cup , but ultimately did not take part in the finals.

Aguilar made his national team debut on August 13, 2013 against Poland in preparation for the European Championship .
