Pablo Calogero

Pablo Calogero (born July 29, 1958 in Los Angeles ) is an American jazz musician ( tenor , soprano and especially baritone saxophone , bass clarinet , flute ).

Calogero was part of Karen Mantler's band , with whom two albums were made, and toured Europe with Carla Bley's big band . He also worked with John Lindberg , Jaki Byard , Rashied Ali , James Newton , Steven Bernstein , Lonnie Jordan , Danny Frankel , Adam Rudolph , Yusef Lateef ( In the Garden ) and Phil Ranelin ( Portrait in Blue ). In the Latin area, he played in the groups of Tito Puente , Mario Bauzá ( Tanga ), Bebo Valdés , Chico O'Farrill , Arturo O'Farrill ( Song for Chico ), Jerry Gonzalez and Andy Gonzalez . He was also involved as a musician and actor in the film Mambo Kings .
