Klikowa is a district of Tarnów , 2 kilometers northwest of the city center along Klikowska Street, in the Powiat Tarnowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

history

In 1342 a village was founded in a forest called Kezeyrswald or Keyzerswald near Tarnów. Two years later, on May 11th, it was mentioned as one of the villages owned by the Krakow castellan Spycimir Leliwita ( Tharnow ... Sonvald sive Mnych ... Podegrodze et Keyzerswald ). After that the place name never appeared again, but it is identified with today's place Klikowa. This name of German origin was derived from the personal name Keizer (for example in 1469 as Martinus Kyesser ... videadocatus (mentioned in Crosno) ) with the suffix -Wald, while the new property-indicating name (the suffix -owa) indicates a certain * Klik.

Politically and administratively, the village belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Sandomir Voivodeship , Pilzno District .
