Paolo Borgia (born March 18, 1966 in Manfredonia ) is an Italian clergyman, diplomat of the Holy See and Roman Catholic Archbishop.

Life

Paolo Borgia was ordained a priest on April 10, 1999 and was incardinated in the Archdiocese of Manfredonia-Vieste . In 1999 he began preparing for diplomatic service at the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy .

On March 4, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Assessor of the General Affairs Section of the State Secretariat and Deputy Giovanni Angelo Beccius .

On September 3, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him titular archbishop pro hac vice of Milazzo and apostolic nuncio . The Pope personally donated his episcopal ordination on October 4th of the same year. Co-consecrators were Cardinal State Secretary Pietro Parolin and the Cardinal Prefect of the Dicastery for Integral Human Development , Peter Turkson .

With effect from October 2019 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Ivory Coast .
