Paolo Ventura (born April 1, 1996 ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Ventura, who competes for the CSEsercito , took part in U18 and U20 races in the Alpine Cup from 2012 to 2016 . He finished ninth in the U20 overall ranking in the 2015/16 season . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he achieved 22nd place over 15 km freestyle and 10 km classic and sixth place with the relay. In December 2016 he started in Valdidentro in the Alpine Cup for the first time and came in 25th place over 15 km freestyle and 11th place over 15 km classic. At the U23 World Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow , he finished 29th in the skiathlon and at the U23 World Championships 2018 in Goms he finished tenth in the skiathlon and ninth place over 15 km classic. In the 2018/19 season he achieved three top ten placements, 13th place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. In February 2019, he completed his first World Cup race in Cogne , which he finished classically in 35th place over 15 km. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , he finished 22nd in the 15 km freestyle and 14th place in the 30 km mass start race. After third places in the Alpine Cup over 15 km each in St. Ulrich am Pillersee and Campra at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he took his first victory in the Alpine Cup in the 30 km mass start race in Pragelato . He achieved fifth place in the overall ranking. In February 2020 he took part in the Ski Tour, which he finished in 42nd place. He got his first World Cup points in Trondheim with the 26th place at the final stage.
