action

The film portrays the Chinese investor Jonathan Pang, local politics hoping for an upswing and the uneventful life in Mecklenburg. The filmmakers accompanied the businessman Pang for over seven years. Only a few months after the start of construction of the airport terminal for the Berlin Brandenburg capital airport, he acquired the former Parchim military airport in winter 2008. Although the Chinese investing company is planning a major expansion and wants to set up scheduled flights, private pilots in particular still use the airport as a training ground. Pang wants to build a center for goods handling and passenger aviation in the Mecklenburg hinterland between Berlin and Hamburg. Parchim International is to “replace the Berlin airport”, Pang proudly announces on his airfield. However, more and more problems emerge: The runway has significant safety deficiencies; the planned approach route is obstructed by a cemetery forest and the adjacent country road prevents the area from expanding.

Visiting his homeland reveals the personal tragedy that compels Jonathan Pang to be a successful businessman.
