Park Street is the name of two levels as Turmbahnhof scale metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in downtown Boston in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It provides access to the lines Red Line and Green Line as well as a connecting tunnel to the neighboring station Downtown Crossing transfer facilities to the Metro Orange Line and bus rapid transit system of the Silver Line .
history
Park Street Station was opened for the Green Line on September 3, 1897, and a second level was added for the Red Line on March 23, 1912 . The subway station is one of the two oldest subway stations in the entire United States, together with Boylston .
Railway systems
Track, signal and security systems
The underground station has six tracks, two of which are on the lower level for the Red Line trains and four on the first level for the Green Line trams (" light rail " vehicles) . The Red Line tracks are accessible via a central platform and two side platforms (known as the " Spanish Solution "), the Green Line tracks can be reached via two central and one side platforms.

The subway station is located at the intersection of Tremont Street and Park Street . It is completely barrier-free .

There are connections to two MBTA bus lines at the station. The Boston Common , Massachusetts State House , Emerson College , Suffolk University , Freedom Trail and Newbury Street are in the immediate vicinity .
