Park Tae-geon (born May 8, 1991 ) is a South Korean sprinter .

Athletic career

Park Tae-geon gained his first international experience at the East Asian Games in Hong Kong in 2009 , where he won the silver medal in the 400-meter run in 46.96 seconds . The following year he took part in this discipline at the Junior World Championships in Moncton and was disqualified there in the semifinals. In 2011 he reached the final of the Asian Championships , but could not finish his run there. He then retired from the World Championships in Daegu in the preliminary stages in the individual competition and with the South Korean 4 x 400 meter relay. In 2014 he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon for the first time, where he finished sixth in 46.19 s and won the silver medal behind the team from Japan in 3: 04.03 min. In 2015 he reached the semi-finals at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju and finished fifth in the relay in 3: 08.17 min.

In 2017 he took part in the 200-meter run at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , where he won the silver medal in 20.76 seconds behind the Taiwanese Yang Chun-han . While he was eliminated with the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run, he took sixth place with the long sprint relay. In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where he finished fifth over 200 meters and finished fifth with the South Korean relay. The following year he reached the semi-finals at the Military World Games in Wuhan over 200 meters and was eliminated there with 21.25 s. With the 4 x 100 meter relay he reached fifth place in 39.82 s and with the 4 x 400 meter relay he was sixth in 3: 09.06 min.

In 2009 and 2010, as well as in 2013 and 2015, Park was the South Korean champion in the 400-meter run and in 2016 and 2018 over 200 meters.
