Partidul Socialist Român

Partidul Socialist Român (PSR, German : Romanian Socialist Party ) is a Romanian political party . It is a 2003 split off from the Socialist Labor Party (PSM). Until 2013, the PSR carried the name Partidul Alianța Socialistă (In German: Socialist Alliance Party).

The party is headed by a 165-person “National Committee”, a 60-person “Directive Committee” and a 60-person “Executive Office”. The party chairman is Constantin Rotaru. The PSR is a founding member of the European Left Party .

On July 3, 2010, the party was renamed Partidul Comunist Român (PCR) (German: Romanian Communist Party) at an extraordinary party congress . In January 2011, the court in Bucharest ruled that the name Partidul Comunist Român must not be adopted by the party.
