The Party of Freedom and Solidarity ( Turkish Özgürlük ve Dayanışma Partisi , ÖDP) is a revolutionary, anti-capitalist and socialist party in Turkey . It is one of the few parties in the world that represents the concept of libertarian socialism .

Political orientation

The ODP is the result of a merger of Devrimci Yol -Nachfolgeprojektes Geleceği Birlikte Kuralım (GBK) and the Vereinigte Sosyalist Partisi (BSP), which in turn u a merger. a. former members of TIP and other formerly pro-Soviet parties and members of other left-wing groups such as Türkiye ve Kuzey Kürdistan Kurtuluş Örgütü and Yeni Yol in 1996.

In the 1999 parliamentary elections, the party received just 0.8% of the vote, falling well below the ten percent threshold . After internal problems in 2002, which resulted in the separation of several groups such as the SDP and SEH (both of which favored DEHAP's support in the elections), it received only 0.34% of the votes in 2002. In the 2004 district elections, however, the ÖDP was able to move into the parliaments of the Artvin and Yozgat provinces . In the parliamentary elections in 2007 , the party chairman Ufuk Uras succeeded in entering parliament as a direct candidate; the party, which did not run across the board, only received 0.15% of the vote.

Internationally she is a member of the European Anti-Capitalist Left and since 2007 a full member of the European Left Party .

In its party program, the party advocates a libertarian, self-governing, internationalist, planned economy-oriented, ecological, anti-militarist and feminist socialism. Its aim is to abolish the predominance of the "forces of capital" and imperialism and to establish a political rule of the "forces of labor".
