Strana Demokratického socialismu
The Party of Democratic Socialism (Czech Strana Demokratického socialismu , SDS) is a Czech political party that invokes the ideas of Democratic Socialism .
It was founded in the 1990s by disappointed members of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia , who no longer wanted to support the CP's orthodox Marxist-Leninist course. Intermediate stages in the formation were the parties Levý blok (Left Block) and Strana Demokratieické levice (Party of the Democratic Left). In 2004 the party was one of the founding parties of the European Left .
The party chairman has been Milan Neubert since 2004 .
