The United and Alternative Left ( Catalan Esquerra Unida i Alternativa , EUiA ) is a political party with 4,000 members in the Catalan part of Spain . It is the Catalan counterpart to the United Left , with which it forms an electoral alliance . It was founded in 1998 as an alliance of PCC , PSUC viu , POR , PRT-IR, PASOC, CEA and CLI. The party leader is Jordi Miralles.
