Pascal Ladner

Pascal Ladner (born September 2, 1933 in Basel ) is a Swiss historian .

Life

Pascal Ladner, son of a businessman, studied history and Germanic philology at the University of Basel as well as at the Sorbonne and the École des chartes in Paris . In 1959 he received his doctorate in Basel with a thesis on the St.-Albankloster in Basel and at the same time obtained a high school teacher diploma. 1960–1962 he worked as a research assistant on the " Middle Latin Dictionary " of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences in Munich . In 1962 he received a teaching position for historical auxiliary sciences at the University of Freiburg im Üchtland . In 1963 the habilitation followed . In 1964 he became associate professor and in 1967 full professor at the University of Freiburg. 1966–1968 he was also associate professor at the University of Bern . Ladner made a name for himself primarily with editions .
