Pascal Yoadimnadji

Pascal Yoadimnadji (* 1950 in Chad ; † February 23, 2007 in Paris ) was a Chadian politician . He was Prime Minister of Chad from February 2005 until his death.

Political career

Yoadimnadji came from the south of the country and belonged to the small ethnic group of the Gor. Before he went into politics, he was a lawyer .

In 1996 he was President of the Election Commission for the presidential election. Idriss Déby , who has ruled since 1990, emerged victorious from the elections, which were criticized for irregularities . Since January 6, 2000, he was the successor to Nagoum Yamassoum President of the Constitutional Court (Conseil constitutionel). On April 17, 2002, he was unanimously re-elected.

In July 2004 he became Minister of Agriculture before President Déby appointed him to succeed Prime Minister Moussa Faki , who resigned on February 3, 2005 . Like his predecessors, he belonged to the Mouvement Patriotique du Salut (MPS) party.

In July / August 2005, he wrote a letter to Human Rights Watch assuring that he would dismiss former President Hissène Habré's followers , who still hold important positions, for violating human rights during Habré's rule.

On February 21, 2007, Yoadimnadji was flown to Paris for medical treatment. He died of a brain hemorrhage two days later . The official business continued for the following days, Infrastructure Minister Adoum Younousmi , successor in office was the Minister for Spatial Planning, Urban Development and Housing, Delwa Kassiré Koumakoye .
