Passion ( . English : passion ) is the second studio album by the German pop-rock - singer Gracia Baur . It was released on November 25, 2005 by the music label BROS Music . The long player, which could not reach a chart position, was produced by David Brandes . With the single Run & Hide Baur entered the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 for Germany.

Brandes signed Baur for his record company BROS Music and produced twelve tracks with it for Passion . In addition to the songs, the CD also contains the music videos for Run & Hide and When the Last Tear's Been Dried . In addition to Brandes, Steve Brooklyn is responsible for the composition of all pieces. Baur himself wrote the lyrics for two pieces. Bernd Opinion co-wrote When the Last Tear's Been Dried and eight other titles. Jane Tempest wrote the text for the single Run & Hide , Heike Fransecky worked on The Last Goodbye . The piece Don't Close Your Eyes , which Baur sang together with Daniel Küblböck , Nektarios Bamiatzis and Stephanie Brauckmeyer as part of the 4 United project , was re-recorded for the album .

Single releases

From Passion three singles were released, which each also music videos were shot. Sascha Kramer was the director for all three video shoots. On January 31, 2005, Run & Hide, the first single was released. With this song Baur won the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and in May 2005 he represented Germany in Kiev at the ESC . She took last place. Run & Hide was ranked 20th in Germany and 57th in the single charts in Austria. The second single was released on October 28, 2005 When the Last Tear's Been Dried . The single reached number 32 and stayed in the German single charts for nine weeks. The last single from Passion was released on February 3, 2006, the track Never Been . It was ranked 39th in Germany and stayed in the single charts for six weeks.

reception

Michael Biedermann from cdstarts rated the album with two out of ten possible points. Even the opener "captivates [...] with an intimidating refrain and clanking electric guitars". When the Last Tear's Been Dried, on the other hand, is "a ballad with little concern and a melody heard a thousand times that would be well received at any hit party". Despite Gracia's powerful voice, the album lacks any innovation and authenticity. "All in all," Passion "is a path of suffering for the listener who is torn between inconsequential ballads and terrifying pop / rock shockers without any orientation."
