The Passo della Scoffèra is a pass crossing in the northern Italian Apennine Mountains . It is located on the Ligurian - Padan watershed and connects the Val Bisagno with the Valle Scrivia . The pass gained importance as an important connection route between the Ligurian port city of Genoa and the Emilian Piacenza . It is accessed from the SS45 state road and is named after the Scoffèra settlement that belongs to the Davagna community .
The Passo della Scoffèra was passed by the Giro d'Italia and is a waypoint of the Ligurian high altitude hiking trail . For several centuries it represented the border between the territory of the Republic of Genoa and the Principality of Torriglia .
