Patrick "Pat" Roach (born May 19, 1937 in Birmingham , West Midlands , England , † July 17, 2004 ibid) was a British wrestler and film actor .

Pat Roach was a giant with a height of 196 cm, a well-trained body and shoulders as wide as a door , which is why he was nicknamed "Bomber" . Under this name he also took part in numerous European wrestling events.

He made his film debut in 1971 in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange , but remains anonymous in the credits. Since then, Roach has appeared in numerous films, mostly in the role of villains and superhuman warriors. He appeared in the first three Indiana Jones films with and as an opponent of James Bond in Never Never Say . He also auditioned for the role of Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope in 1976 , but David Prowse was able to successfully challenge him for the role. As an actor in a leading role, he appeared in the film Willow in the role of General Kael.

In parallel with his work on the film, Roach also owned a gym in Birmingham and was always on good terms with his fans. He had one child with his wife, Doreen Harris, whom he married in 1957 . As a result of chain smoking, he developed throat cancer , from which he died in 2004 at the age of 67.
