Patrick Berhault

Patrick Berhault (born July 19, 1957 , Thiers ; † April 28, 2004 , near Randa ), called Berobocop , was a French mountaineer and sport climber . He was a professor at the École Nationale de Ski et Alpinisme (ENSA) in Chamonix .

From August 2000 to January 2001, Patrick Berhault completed an Alpine traverse consisting of 22 difficult summit ascents, including the Civetta , Marmolata , Matterhorn , Eiger , Grandes Jorasses and Mont Blanc . It started on August 27, 2000 with the north face of Triglav in Slovenia and ended its traverse on February 9, 2001 with the arrival on the beach of Menton in southern France. His mountain partners were u. a. Patrick Edlinger and Philippe Magnin.

On May 23, 2003, Patrick Berhault was a member of a French expedition on Mt. Everest .

Patrick Berhault had an accident in 2004 on the ridge between Dom and Täschhorn (Wallis). He fell fatally approx. 600 m when a cornice broke off below him at approx. 4400 m. Berhault had not been roped. This misfortune occurred while 47-year-old Berhault tried to climb all 82 four-thousand-meter peaks in two months (March, April) together with 39-year-old Philippe Magnin .
