biography
Biggs is the son of an Australian father and a Canadian mother. At the age of five he and his parents moved from Australia to Ottawa , Canada. He drove his first races at the age of six for the Ottawa Ski Club.
In his first World Cup season 2004/05 Biggs reached two tenth places in the slalom in Chamonix and Wengen . (In his debut race on January 9th in Chamonix, he qualified thirtieth for the second run, in which he finished with a best time of 10th place.) With that he qualified for the 2005 World Championships in Bormio . There he convinced in the slalom. Thanks to his best run time, he was able to improve from 23rd place (after the first run) to ninth place and ensured a good team result with Thomas Grandi (sixth place) and Michael Janyk (eleventh place).
In its first participation in the Olympic Games, in 2006 in Turin , Biggs was eliminated in the slalom. As a result, he could no longer build on his previous achievements and often failed in the World Cup because of the qualification for the second run of the best 30th point wins were mostly the exception. At the 2007 World Championships in Åre , he drove back to ninth place in slalom, benefiting from numerous failures.
In the Nor-Am Cup , the North American continental championship, Biggs was one of the best slalom runners for several years. From the 2004/05 season to the 2009/10 season he was always among the top six in the slalom ranking , and from 2005/06 to 2007/08 he came third in the slalom ranking three times in a row. Biggs did not take part in the 2009 and 2011 World Championships . At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , he started in the giant slalom and finished 35th.
After knee problems in the winter of 2011/12, Biggs announced his retirement from ski racing in September 2012.
