Patrick Division

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Patrick Division was one of the divisions in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL . The league was divided into two Conferences ( Campbell Conference and Prince of Wales Conference ) until 1993 , which in turn were divided into divisions. One of them was the Patrick Division, which was founded in 1974 as part of the Clarence Campbell Conference and moved to the Prince of Wales Conference in 1981.

With the expansion of the league in 1993 and the subsequent reform of the league system, the division was replaced by the Atlantic Division .

The Patrick Division was named after Lester Patrick , one of the founding fathers of the New York Rangers . The Philadelphia Flyers are the record champions of the Patrick Division with eight league titles at the end of the regular season.
