Adams Division
The Adams Division was one of the divisions in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL . The league was divided into two Conferences ( Campbell Conference and Prince of Wales Conference ) until 1993 , which in turn were divided into divisions. One of these was the Adams Division, founded in 1974 as part of the Prince of Wales Conference.
With the expansion of the league in 1993 and the subsequent reform of the league system, the division became the Northeast Division .
The Adams Division was named after Charles Adams , the founder of the Boston Bruins , the club that with nine wins also celebrated the most championship titles at the end of the regular season in the Adams Division.
