Patrick Kury
Patrick Kury (* 1962 ) is a history professor at the University of Lucerne .
He studied history, sociology and German literature at the universities of Basel and Vienna . From 1997–2005 he was an assistant, with various research stays abroad, since 2005 senior assistant and lecturer at the universities of Basel , Bern , Zurich and Lucerne . He received his doctorate in 2002 from the University of Basel with a thesis on the history of foreign infiltration in Switzerland and completed his habilitation ( venia legendi ) in 2010 at the University of Bern on the history of stress. He has been a permanent lecturer at the University of Lucerne since 2012, and at the FernUni Schweiz (University Distance Learning Switzerland) since 2014 .
He researches and publishes on Jewish history, the history of migration and the construction of national identities, and the history of knowledge of the population, health and medicine. He also realizes historical exhibitions.
