Patrick Schwarz-Schütte

Patrick Schwarz-Schütte (born August 10, 1956 in Büderich ) is a German entrepreneur and former President of the Franco-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce .

Patrick Schwarz-Schütte was born on August 10, 1956 in Büderich , the son of the entrepreneur Rolf Schwarz-Schütte . After graduating from high school, he served in the armed forces and was dismissed as a reserve officer . After completing his professional training at Hoechst AG from 1977 to 1979 as a commercial employee , Patrick Schwarz-Schütte studied business administration at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a diploma . From 1982 to 1984 he worked for the management consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton . In 1984 he became assistant to the management at Schwarz Pharma . At the age of 32 he was promoted to the company's board of directors. He took over the chairmanship of the board in 1992. He carried out the company's IPO in 1995. After long negotiations, he sold the shares in Schwarz Pharma to the Belgian company Union Chimique Belge (UCB) for 2.6 billion euros . In the course of leaving the company, each employee was paid a bonus of 10,000 euros. The sale made the founding family the second largest shareholder in Union Chimique Belge and he became a member of the UCB Board of Directors.

After leaving Schwarz Pharma, Patrick Schwarz-Schütte took over the position of managing director of his company Black Horse Investments in 2007 . Patrick Schwarz-Schütte moved into the supervisory board of the media company M. DuMont Schauberg on August 11, 2011. He has been on the Celesio Supervisory Board since May 16, 2013 .

Patrick Schwarz-Schütte is married and has four children.

Social Commitment

From 1997 to 2005, Patrick Schwarz-Schütte was a member of the Board of Directors of the Franco-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DFIHK). After the death of Alfred Freiherr von Oppenheim in January 2005, he took over the post of president of the DFIHK from April 2005, initially provisionally and after his election. Patrick Schwarz-Schütte is currently Deputy Chairman of the University Council of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf .
