Patrick Wojcicki (born August 14, 1991 in Wolfsburg ) is a German boxer and kickboxer .

Amateur career

Patrick Wojcicki works as a toolmaker at Volkswagen AG. He starts for the AKBC Wolfsburg , for which he also competed in the 2nd Boxing Bundesliga and was a member of the B national squad of the German Boxing Association . His club trainer and “foster father” is Antonino Spatola. His DBV trainers were Valentin Silaghi and Michael Gratschow. At the Junior World Championships in 2008, he was fifth. He has been boxing in the men's performance area since 2009. At the European Championships in Moscow in 2010 and the 2011 World Championships in Baku , he was eliminated in the preliminary fight. He is more successful at the national level. From 2009 to 2011 he was German champion in his weight class three times in a row, and in 2011 he also won the chemistry cup . In 2009 he was voted Wolfsburg's Sportsman of the Year.

With his victory over Abdülkadir Köroğlu at the pre-Olympic qualification tournament in Trabzon , Wojcicki qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , but was eliminated in the first round against Alexis Vastine with 12:16 points.

With a few exceptions, Wojcicki, who was German kickboxing champion several times in the youth and junior sector, withdrew from boxing after the Olympic Games and concentrated on kickboxing. In 2014 he won the gold medal in the weight class up to 75 kg. In 2015 he also won a World Cup in Italy.

Professional career

In November 2015 Wojcicki signed his first contract with the Berlin Boxstall Sauerland Event . He made his debut fight on November 21, 2015 in the TUI Arena in Hanover against the German Surik Donsdean. He won this fight by technical knockout in the 4th round. He then played nine more fights, all of which he won. His eleventh fight on December 23, 2017 against the Czech Anatoli Hunanyan ended in a draw after 8 rounds.

On May 18, 2018, he won the IBF Intercontinental Championship against the German Ronny Mittag after 12 rounds in the MBS Arena Potsdam unanimously on points and also became German International Champion of the BDB.

He defended the IBF title in his weight class in the CongressPark Wolfsburg on October 6, 2018 against the German Sven Elbir, and on April 6, 2019 against the Argentine Marcelo Fabion Caceres, each unanimously on points. In the same year he won against Robert Swierzbinski by TKO in the 4th round.
