Bonssawende Patrick Zoundi (born July 19, 1982 in Ouagadougou ) is a former football player from the West African state of Burkina Faso .

Career

He was trained at the Planète Champion youth academy in Ouagadougou and moved from there to Belgium to KSC Lokeren . For the 2008/09 season he played for Panserraikos in Greece. In July 2009 he signed a two-year contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf and from then on was active in the 2nd Bundesliga . In two years he made 42 appearances, but was only used irregularly and could not establish himself as a permanent regular.

Zoundi at 1. FC Union Berlin (2012)

Before the 2011/12 season, he moved to league rivals 1. FC Union Berlin on a free transfer . There he received a two-year contract for the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. In the following two seasons, Zoundi played a total of 51 competitive games, in which he scored six goals for Berlin. But since he could not finally prevail against the competition in midfield, his contract with Union was not extended. For the 2013/14 season , Zoundi was signed by the North Rhine-Westphalian third division club MSV Duisburg .

For the 2014/15 season, Zoundi went to 1. FC Saarbrücken and ended his career there in 2016.

National team

Patrick Zoundi played 19 times for the Burkinabe national soccer team (1 goal) and took part in the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand in 1999 . He was also in the Burkina Faso squad at the 2004 and 2010 African Cups .
