Patrik Fredholm (born May 10, 1978 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish football player . The striker , who became Swedish champions in 1998, has played much of his career so far in Italy and Norway .

Career

Fredholm started playing football at AIK in 1983 when he was five years old . There he went through all youth teams and came under coach Erik Hamrén shortly after his 18th birthday on May 15, 1996 for his debut in the Allsvenskan , when he came as a substitute in the 2-3 home defeat against Östers IF and in the final minute scored his first first division goal with the goal to the final score. In the period that followed, the young player established himself as a supplementary player in the first division team and was mainly used as a joker. Even under Hamrén's successor, Stuart Baxter , he mostly just sat on the bench at the beginning, but was able to play his way into the starting line-up during the 1998 championship season. However, since he was denied a goal for a long time, he found himself again in the role of substitute towards the end of the season.

After the end of the 1998 season, Fredholm left his home club after 46 first division games and seven goals and moved to Udinese Calcio in Serie A for four million Swedish kronor , where he had no language problems due to his Italian mother. After a back injury, he missed the boat and was loaned to De Graafschap Doetinchem in 1999 . After his return to Udine, he was awarded directly to the former Italian second division club ASD Castel di Sangro in the C series .

Since Fredholm saw no future at Udinese Calcio, he returned to Sweden for the 2001 season and signed a contract with the traditional club Örgryte IS . For the first division he played 45 games in three years and was able to score eight goals. In 2004 he moved to Norway to the second division Kviv Halden , who hired him as a support for the rise in the Tippeligaen . After one season he moved on to the first division club FK Haugesund , where he played two seasons. In the winter of 2006 he returned to Italy and went to Serie D club ASD Rivignano in Udine.
