Patty Griffin (birth name Patricia Jean Griffin , born March 16, 1964 in Old Town , Maine ) is an American singer and songwriter and Grammy Award winner. Griffin was especially for the indigenous style of their songs and their relationship with musicians such as Emmylou Harris , Ellis Paul and the Dixie Chicks known that occurred with her or her songs have played, making them a larger audience of Pop - and country music known were. Griffin also gained a wide fan base in the folk field in America. She also received the Americana Music Association's top award for “Artist of the Year” in 2007 and the Best Album Award for Children Running Through . In 2010 she recorded an album with the former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant ( Band of Joy ) and went on tour with him.
