Paul Barrère (born July 3, 1948 in Burbank , California - † October 26, 2019 in Los Angeles ) was an American rock guitarist and singer , who was mainly a member of Little Feat in the 1970s through his slide guitars -Game gained notoriety.

Life

Barrère was the son of Hollywood actors Paul Bryar (actually Gabriel Paul Barrere) and Claudia Bryar .

Barrère joined Little Feat in 1972 and made his debut on the 1973 album Dixie Chicken , for which he also wrote the song Walking All Night with keyboardist Bill Payne . In addition to his work with the band, he was also active as a session musician, for example for Bonnie Raitt , Carly Simon and Robert Palmer . After separating from Little Feat in 1979, Barrère began recording his solo debut album On My Own Two Feet , which was released in 1983. Real Lies followed in 1984 . In 1988 he was part of the reunion of Little Feat and in 1995 also released his third solo work If the Phone Don't Ring , which contains recordings of the two solo LPs. Together with Fred Tackett , Barrère recorded the acoustic concert album Live from North Cafe in 2001 . At the beginning of 2013 Paul Barrère released the CD Riding The Nova Train with Roger Cole on their own "Better Daze" label.

Paul Barrère had been suffering from hepatitis C since 1994 . He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2015 , but he continued to make music. He died in October 2019 at the age of 71.
