Paul Bonin

Paul Bonin (born May 24, 1960 in Hammersmith , London ) is an English musician (vocals, electric bass , guitar, composition).

Bonin grew up in north London in an environment that inspired many of his songs. His musical career began as early as 1978. In 1979, Bonin played bass in the London punk band "The Shit", which played at a rally of the National Union of Students in front of more than 5000 people in London's Hyde Park . From 1980 to 1982 he was bass player in the band The Jetset with Paul Bevoir , recorded several records and went on tours with her. During this time, Bonin worked for the media mogul Clive Banks on Parker Street.

After moving to Berlin in 1986, Bonin founded the street punk band " The Magoo Brothers " with Stephan Hilleckenbach and Stefan Gerhard, which toured Europe with over 400 concerts until it broke up in 1989. In 1988 the band released the album "Beyond Believeable". He toured the newly independent Eastern European countries and played in 1992 at the Jūrmala Festival in Riga , Latvia , which was also televised, in the same year at the Ukrainian national festival Maria and the following year as supporter of Marc Almond at the Sopot Festival .

In the late 1990s he founded the band "King Bastard" (with Tex Morton on guitar), with whom he recorded several albums. Her song "Time on My Hands" was used in the film from Sven Regener 's novel " Herr Lehmann ", directed by Leander Haussmann . Bonin and Regener worked together in 2001 on the Element of Crime record "Romantik", where Bonin was involved as a background singer.

In 2004 Bonin signed an exclusive contract with Universal Music . Furthermore, Bonin arranged and co-produced with Moses Schneider ( Beatsteaks , Tocotronic ) and with Christian Geller ( Banaroo , No Angels), Vanessa Petruo and Apocalyptica, among others .

Bonin went on tour with Ben Hamilton and played at The Say Highs , including as support for The Sea and Cake , Jack Peñate and Kula Shaker .

In early 2009 Bonin founded his band "The Chosen Few", with which he was also in the studio.
