Paul Brand (sculptor)

Paul Brand (born November 16, 1941 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss sculptor who lives and works in Norway .

Brand lives in Oslo and is a member of the Norwegian Sculptors Association. He teaches at universities in Norway (1982–84 Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo; 1987–87 Technical University Trondheim, 1992–98 Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo; since 1998 Technical University Trondheim).

Archi sculptures in Norway

His architectural sculptures, called "Archiskulpturen", can be found in various locations in Norway from Hovden in the south and Longyearbyen , Spitsbergen , in the north. These are architectural room structures in steel , copper , aluminum , wood and glass in sizes from 6 to 15 meters

From 1978 various exhibitions followed in Bergen , Lillehammer , Trondheim , Antwerp , Bern , Rosenheim , Ettlingen , Hanau , Berlin , Oslo , Madrid , Nuremberg , Helsinki , Stockholm , Reykjavík and Rome .

  • Hovden, steel construction for a 1000 year old piece of iron (for the Historical Museum in Oslo) 12 meters high
  • Lillehammer, bridal crown for the 1994 Winter Olympics , iron painted red, 15 meters high
  • Longyearbyen, sky tent, galvanized iron, diameter 15 meters, height 8 meters
  • Bergen Airport , stacked pyramids, 12 meters high
  • Stavanger Town Hall , one more step, red painted steel, 9 meters high
  • Tynset Town Hall Square, Red Tower, painted steel, 12.25 meters high
