Paul Carroll (born May 16, 1986 in Taree ) is an Australian volleyball player .

Career

Carroll began volleyball at Great Lakes College in Forster and then trained at the Australian Institute of Sport . In 2005 he made his debut for the Australian national team . During his studies at Pepperdine University in California , he played on the university team Waves from 2006 to 2009. In the 2009/10 season, the diagonal attacker was active in the Italian league at Volley Forlì . Then he moved to the German Bundesliga team Generali Haching . With the club he won the DVV Cup in the final against the Berlin Recycling Volleys in the 2010/11 season . In the Bundesliga playoffs he was eliminated with Haching against Berlin. Carroll was named the League's Most Valuable Player (MVP). Then he was hired by the Berlin Recycling Volleys. With the team from the capital, the Australian became German champions in the 2011/2012 season . In the following two years, Berlin successfully defended its title in the league. In the 2014/2015 season , the club was runner-up behind VfB Friedrichshafen and took third place in the Champions League in its own hall . In 2016 Carroll won the triple of the German championship , DVV-Pokal and CEV-Pokal with the Berliners . In 2017 he became German champion again and made it to the final of the DVV Cup and the Final Four of the Champions League . In the following season, Berlin reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and managed to defend the title in the Bundesliga . He then moved to the Russian club Yenisei Krasnoyarsk .
