Paul Christoph Zeidler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Christoph Zeidler (born May 11, 1660 in Crossen ; † March 7, 1729 in Johanngeorgenstadt ) was a Saxon mountain master .

Zeidler, who came from near Zwickau , was the son of Paul Zeidler , who was a pastor in Hermannsdorf near Schlettau. He settled in the Upper Ore Mountains and worked there initially as a notary in Annaberg , later as a mark separator , guardein and huts clerk. From 1695 to 1706 he was the third mountain sworn in Johanngeorgenstadt, and from 1698 onwards he was also the first vice miner. From 1707 he took over the office of miner at the Johanngeorgenstadt Mining Authority , which he held until his death. Zeidler became known nationwide through his membership in the Royal Revision Commission for the Bavarian, Tyrolean and Norwegian mines.

In 1707/1708 the trades of the mountain buildings Frisch-Glück, Römischer-Adler, Samuelis, Neujahr and Neujahrs-Mass in Johanngeorgenstadt sued him because of the flooding he had carried out, which the city council also complained about.

The tomb of the Zeidler family has been preserved in the cemetery to this day.

His sons Christian Salomon Zeidler and Christoph Andreas Zeidler also became mountain champions, one in Johanngeorgenstadt, the other in Schneeberg .
