Paul Diehl

Paul Diehl (born January 10, 1886 in Munich , † 1976 in Graefelfing ) was a German film producer , film director and author. From 1948 to 1960 he was mayor of Graefelfing, then an honorary citizen.

After receiving his doctorate, Diehl, a supporter of Silvio Gesell's ideas , was a member of the federal executive committee of the new Freiwirtschaftsbund, which was re-established after the ban during the Third Reich . Ferdinand Diehl and Hermann Diehl were his brothers. The work of the three brothers was honored in 1994/1995 with the retrospective under the title Mecki : Märchen & Schnurren, the puppet films of the Diehl brothers in the German Film Museum in Frankfurt am Main .

Today the Paul-Diehl-Park , which lies between Pasing and Graefelfing and is part of the Munich green corridor Würm, is named after him.
