Rudolf Zitzmann (born August 2, 1898 ; † July 29, 1990 ) was a German free economy and life reform publisher .

Life

Zitzmann's father fought as a " liberal for a better social order". Rudolf Zitzmann began to be interested in publishing at an early age. Despite being banned by the National Socialists , he published books by Franz Hochstetter . Zitzmann was therefore imprisoned for five years and five months in the Dachau concentration camp , the Sachsenhausen concentration camp , the Nuremberg cell prison and the Flossenbürg concentration camp .

After the end of the war, Zitzmann immediately began to rebuild his company based in Lauf near Nuremberg , Espanstrasse 1. From mid-1946 he published the magazine The Companions: Monthly for Knowledge and Action , which had a circulation of 33,000 copies and its 34 issues from 1946 published until 1950; Richard Batz , Paul Diehl , Franz Hochstetter , Karl Walker and Werner Zimmermann supported him in this. He also published the nudist magazine Helios - Sonnenstrahl, Geist und Gestalt (issues 1 to 180 with a gap of 3 issues). In addition, the publisher published the EOS naturist booklets. At times Adolf Koch (Berlin) worked as editor. A further publication of the nudist literature, which was very successful at this time, was prevented by the financing banks. During the 1950s to the early 1960s , Zitzmann was able to successfully expand his publishing house and employ up to 15 people; it became the “first address” for free-trade literature.

Zitzmann fought in vain for compensation for what he had suffered during the Second World War .
