Paul Etoga

Paul Etoga (* 1911 in Nkolmewrut , Cameroon ; † March 13, 1998 ) was Bishop of Mbalmayo .

Life

After studying Catholic theology and philosophy, Paul Etoga received the sacrament of ordination on September 19, 1939 from the Vicar Apostolic of Yaoundé , François-Xavier Vogt CSSp .

On July 3, 1955, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Cyparissia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Yaounde. The Archbishop of Yaoundé, René Graffin CSSp, donated him episcopal ordination on November 30th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Brazzaville , Michel-Jules-Joseph-Marie Bernard CSSp, and the Bishop of Douala , Pierre Bonneau CSSp.

On June 24, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the first bishop of Mbalmayo. On March 7, 1987, Pope John Paul II accepted Paul Etoga's resignation because of his age.

Paul Etoga attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
