Paul Fliether

Paul Fliether (born May 31, 1897 in Velbert , † March 13, 1945 in Hamburg ; full name: Paul Johann Fliether ) was a German architect , author and university professor who is considered a representative of the Stuttgart School .

Professional background

After studying architecture at the Technical University of Stuttgart , among others with Paul Schmitthenner , he was the office partner of the architect Peter Klotzbach in Barmen from 1926 to 1929 . He then worked independently in Velbert, until in 1934 he accepted a professorship at the Hanseatic University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. In 1942 he moved to the Dresden State Art Academy as head of the architecture department and rector , where he took on the teaching duties of Herbert Terpitz , who was on the war mission .
