Paul Gregory Bootkoski (born July 4, 1940 in Newark ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Metuchen .

Life

Paul Gregory Bootkoski was ordained a priest on May 29, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Newark and titular bishop of Zarna on July 7, 1997 . The Archbishop of Newark, Theodore Edgar McCarrick , ordained him episcopally on September 5 of that year ; Co- consecrators were John Mortimer Fourette Smith , Bishop of Trenton , and Michael Angelo Saltarelli , Bishop of Wilmington .

He was appointed bishop of Metuchen on January 4, 2002, and on March 19 of the same year he was instituted.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 8, 2016.
