Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel

Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel (born April 20, 1927 in Potsdam ) is a former German ambassador .

Life

Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel comes from the Uckermark aristocratic family Stülpnagel . He is the son of Major General Siegfried Paul Ferdinand von Stülpnagel (1891–1976) and was accredited to embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Middle East and in Moscow .

Helmut Kohl announced in mid-August 1987 that 72 Pershing 1As of the Bundeswehr would be scrapped in the early 1990s. Hans-Dietrich Genscher instructed Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel as a representative at the United Nations Special Conference on Disarmament and Development in New York to present Kohl's declaration on behalf of the German Federal Government.

Von Stülpnagel retired in 1992. From May 1993 he headed the European Community Observer Mission to South Africa (ECOMSA). In 1994 Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel headed a commission of EU observers in the former Yugoslavia.

From July 19, 1999, Paul Joachim von Stülpnagel and Georg Reisch (ancien ambassadeur de l'Autriche au titre de l'Union), Bernard Stasi (France) and Moustapha Niasse ( Francophonie ) mediated a Mission de facilitation politique au Togo in Lomé .
