Paul London (born April 16, 1980 in Austin , Texas , USA ) is an American wrestler who was under contract in the WWE until November 7, 2008.
Career
Beginnings / Independent
London began his wrestling career in 1999 in various independent leagues. In 2001 and 2002 London made two appearances with the World Wrestling Federation . From March 2002 he worked for the Ring of Honor doctorate . There London met some of today's WWE Superstars CM Punk and Daniel Bryan . In 2003, London made three brief appearances for TNA .
Independent
In 2003 London appeared at Pro Wrestling ZERO1 and the East Coast Wrestling Association. London also made some appearances on the Ring of Honor and TNA again.
World Wrestling Entertainment
In mid-2003, London signed a contract with WWE and made his SmackDown debut on October 7, 2003 (where London has already performed at a few house shows) against then WWE Champion Brock Lesnar . Shortly thereafter, he joined Billy Kidman as a tag team with whom he was able to secure the WWE Tag Team title from the Dudley Boys in June . The team broke up again after losing the title in September.
In March 2005 he was able to secure the WWE Cruiserweight Title in a Cruiserweight Battle Royal , which he lost to Nunzio in August 2005 .
After losing the title, he appeared in the team with the returned Brian Kendrick, with whom he had already briefly formed a tag team in 2003. After several matches against the MNM tag team ( Johnny Nitro , Joey Mercury and Melina Perez ), London and Kendrick defeated them on May 21, 2006 at PPV Judgment Day and became new WWE Tag Team Champions . They lost the WWE Tag Team Belt at Smackdown on April 20, 2007 against Deuce and Domino (Deuce 'n' Domino). They were the ones who held the tag team titles longest (331 days) in WWE history.
On June 17, 2007, he and his tag team partner Brian Kendrick were moved to RAW at the Draft Lottery. In September 2007 the team won the World Tag Team Title of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch on a WWE tour of South Africa, but they only held it for a few days, which is why the WWE title change went largely unnoticed.
At the end of the year, London was on hiatus due to a foot injury, which lasted until his return on February 4th.
After the Draft Lottery , London and Kendrick were separated. As a result, London suffered another injury and had to take a longer break. Before his planned return to one of the main squads, he was released on November 7, 2008.
Independent
Then London returned to the independent sector. At Northeast Wrestling he was able to win the NEW Heavyweight Title. He currently works for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla , where he made his debut on February 21st. There she won the PWG World Tag Team Title together with El Generico .
