Peter Jacob Gruner (born May 11, 1974 in Allentown , Pennsylvania ), better known as Billy Kidman , is an American professional wrestler who was active for the two major wrestling promotions WCW and WWE . He was married to former WWE wrestler Torrie Wilson until October 18, 2006 .

With a height of 1.80 m, he has a weight of about 88 kg and is one of the cruiserweights in wrestling.

Career

In 1994 Gruner began his career and was active in World Championship Wrestling from 1996 . In 1998 he was allowed to hold the WCW Cruiserweight Championship twice . In 1999 he was allowed to win the WCW World Tag Team Championship in a team with Rey Mysterio . Then Gruner was able to win the cruiserweight title and tag team title (with Konnan ) one more time. With Mysterio, Gruner was also able to win the short-lived WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship .

After the takeover of WCW by the World Wrestling Federation, he was also active for them. Having also to the invasion - storylines was involved, was allowed Gruner in July, the WCW Cruiserweight Championship win. Later, the WWF, renamed WWE, was split into two shows - Raw and SmackDown . From then on Gruner was employed by the latter. Here he was able to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship .

Together with Paul London he won the WWE Tag Team Championship in July 2004 . On July 7, 2005, Gruner was fired from the WWE, but then had some appearances in the WWE Development League Florida Championship Wrestling , but there was no comeback in the main shows. He then worked for various independent leagues before returning to FCW in September 2007, where he has been a coach ever since.

After his release, Gruner initially worked for various independent organizations in Great Britain and for USA Xtreme Wrestling. In 2007 he fought first for the International Wrestling Association and later in Australia, where he is currently employed.

Finisher

Gruner's finishing move was the “Shooting Star Press”, a kind of Auerbach from the third ring rope with landing on the opponent.

In a match against Chavo Guerrero , he executed his finisher incorrectly and landed his knee on the head of his opponent, who suffered a concussion .
