Paul Pallesen

Paul Pallesen is a Dutch jazz musician ( guitar , banjo , bouzouki , composition).

After studying music in Amsterdam in 1993, Pallesen was one of the founding members of the Gravitones group (alongside Augusto Forti , Raoul van der Weide and Wim Janssen ), with whom he recorded several albums. He is also a member of Joost Buis ' Astronotes and the group Drones in the Bones .

In 1995 he founded the group Bite the Gnatze , which includes the keyboardist Frank van Bommel , the trombonist Joost Buis, the clarinetist Michel Duijves , the saxophonist Steven Kamperman , the double bassist Meinrad Kneer and the percussionist Alan Purves . Since 2001 three albums have been released with the band, for which Pallesen wrote most of the compositions. More recently, Pallesen founded the group Tone Dailing with Jorrit Dijkstra and Steve Heather , which works in the field of electroacoustic music.

Pallesen u. a. with Cor Fuhler , Wilbert de Joode , Martin van Duynhoven , Michael Vatcher , Jaap Blonk and Mark Alban Lotz . He also took part in various theater and dance theater projects and is part of Spoken Beat Night with the singer Jeannine Valeriano and the bass clarinetist Maarten Ornstein .
