Paul Richter (composer)

Paul Richter (born August 28, 1875 in Kronstadt ; † April 16, 1950 Neustadt , Brașov district ) was a Romanian composer, conductor, pianist, organist and teacher of Saxon origin.

He attended the Johannes-Honterus-Gymnasium in Kronstadt and studied music with Rudolf Lassel . Richter initially concentrated on studying medicine, but eventually entered the Leipzig Conservatory .

In 1900 he returned to Kronstadt and headed the "Male Choir Association".

In 1904 he became Kapellmeister of the city orchestra and conductor of the Philharmonic Society, with which he undertook several tours through Transylvania / Transylvania and Romania . Thanks to his contribution, Richard Strauss , Felix Weingartner and George Enescu give concerts in the Transylvanian / Transylvanian cities. He was also active in Sibiu / Hermannstadt .

Richter composed six symphonies; Symphonic poems, suites and fantasies based on popular Saxon and Romanian motifs, overtures, chamber music, concert pieces, instrumentals, choral and choral symphonic works.
