Paula Claudia Ungureanu (born March 30, 1980 in Brașov ) is a Romanian handball player .
Career
Paula Ungureanu began her professional career at the Romanian club Universitatea Remin Deva , with whom she was in the 2004 final of the EHF Challenge Cup . From 2004 the goalkeeper was under contract for two years at the top Austrian club Hypo Niederösterreich , with whom she won the championship and the ÖHB Cup twice. Then she joined the Hungarian first division club Dunaferr NK . In the 2008/09 season she ran for the Croatian club ŽRK Podravka Koprivnica , with which she won the Croatian Championship, the Croatian Cup and the Women's Regional Handball League . Ungureanu then played for the Romanian club CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea . With CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea she won the Romanian Championship in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 and the Romanian Cup in 2011. She was also in the final of the EHF Champions League in the 2009/10 season . In the summer of 2013, she signed a contract with the Romanian first division club HCM Baia Mare , with whom she won the Romanian championship in 2014 and the Romanian Cup in 2014 and 2015. From summer 2016 Ungureanu played for CSM Bucharest , with whom she won the Romanian championship in 2017 and 2018 and the Romanian cup in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Ungureanu signed a contract with Rapid Bucharest for the 2019/20 season .
Ungureanu is a member of the Romanian national team . With Romania, she won in 2005 the silver medal at the World Championships, in 2015 the bronze medal at the World Championships and in 2010 the bronze medal at the European Championship. She was a member of the Romanian contingent for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
