Paulo Muwanga

Paulo Muwanga ( 1924 - April 1, 1991 ) was de facto President of Uganda in May 1980 . As chairman of the ruling military commission , he had the greatest political power in the country for a short period of time. His influence ended with the establishment of an official government. Between August 1 and August 25 of the same year, Muwanga was Prime Minister of Uganda. In December 1980, Milton Obote came to power. After a clear victory for the Ugandan Democratic Party in the December 10 elections, Muwanga declared himself chairman of the election commission and announced Obote's victory.
