Pedalo (play equipment)
A pedalo is a game machine for transportation for children and adults, by the company wooden Hoerz from Münsingen is made.
history
In 1963 Ruth Weidenbach from Geislingen / Steige invented the pedalo. In the same year, Erich Hoerz manufactured the single pedalo with three wheels and two pedals in between. So that more children could learn to ride faster, he developed the double pedalo (Pedalo Classic) with slightly longer running boards and six wheels in 1970. On this basis, further devices for rolling, balancing and training were created. In August 2008 the inventor Erich Hoerz died at the age of 79.
Pedalo systems
Original pedalo
The original, manufactured almost unchanged for 50 years, is one of the most successful coordination devices. Rotatable treads of 6 × 14 cm each increase the level of difficulty and train balance, responsiveness, coordination skills, posture and movement to a special degree. In recreational and competitive sports, pedalo sports are an important part of coordinative training. With the attachment rope, the movement is supported by arms and hands. Preliminary exercises on the Pedalo Classic (double pedalo) are an advantage. Loadable up to approx. 100 kg. The original Pedalo is available in the versions Pedalo Sport (single pedalo), Pedalo Classic (double pedalo) and Pedalo Combi.
Pedalo "S" rehab

Pedalo "S" Aqua
Pedalo "S" Aqua are primarily used for therapeutic applications in water to restore mobility after injuries in the postural apparatus, but also for playful use in leisure and fun pools.
Pedalo "S" Air
Pedalo "S" Air roll comfortably on uneven surfaces such as lawn, gravel and asphalt due to their pneumatic tires. The Pedalo "S" Air are therefore the first choice for daily use by municipal institutions and playmobile enthusiasts.
Media interest and network culture
- In March 2009, in the ProSieben show Beat the Star of Stefan Raab , the pedalo game show in which the two candidates had to take a pedalo for a certain distance and a finish line. The star Stefan Kretzschmar lost. This game was also shown several times in the program Schlag den Raab .
- The Pedalo has been used as a meme since the beginning of 2018 . It all started with the saying “Brother must go”, known from the streamer MontanaBlack, under a pedalo picture. The saying refers to a person who is in an embarrassing situation and wants to get away from it quickly instead of having to deal with it. Brother is the expression for a friend in the youth language and does not refer to the family brother. The pedalo represents a humorous means of moving away. The sentence is also used to start a nonsensical or curious action. Since then, this meme can be found on platforms such as Reddit , Twitter , Facebook , Instagram , YouTube and many more, and is provided with new texts and images every day. For example, word games or situation comedy are used .
