Pelagic Records is a German independent label that was founded in 2009.

history

The label was founded in 2009 by Robin Staps with the intention of re-releasing an old album by his band The Ocean , after Metal Blade Records had previously rejected his request. However, the label supports him with the distribution. He soon reached a distribution contract with SPV , whereupon further records were released, as the first publications proved to be quite successful. The second was a sound carrier by the Swiss band Nebra, which was followed as the third by the record version of God Is on Astronauts All Is Violent, All Is Bright . The releases are not subject to a specific schedule, but appear at Staps' discretion. In September 2017, In the Twilight, These Rocks Have Teeth, the first label sampler consisting of two CDs , was released, which shows a cross-section of the releases of the last eight years. The sampler was also offered digitally.
