Per Hjalmar Ludvig Carleson (born July 11, 1917 in Stockholm , † June 8, 2004 in Gothenburg ) was a Swedish sword fencer and swimmer .

Before his career, Per Carleson was active as a backstroke fencer . In 1936 he became Swedish champion over the 100 meter distance and temporarily held the Swedish record over this.

Carleson was runner-up with the team in Lisbon in 1947 , Cairo in 1949 and Luxembourg in 1954 . In 1950 in Monte Carlo and 1951 in Stockholm he also won the bronze medal with her. He also won bronze in singles in 1949. He took part in the Olympic Games three times : in 1948 he reached the final round in the team competition with the Swedish team, which he finished with a bronze medal with Carl Forssell , Bengt Ljungquist , Frank Cervell , Sven Thofelt and Arne Tollbom behind France and Italy . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he moved with the team again in the final round, which was completed in second place behind Italy. Together with Carl Forssell, Berndt-Otto Rehbinder , Bengt Ljungquist, Lennart Magnusson and Sven Fahlman , Carleson received the silver medal. In the individual he was seventh.
