Percy Avery Rockefeller

Percy Avery Rockefeller (born February 27, 1878 in New York City , † September 25, 1934 there ) was an American entrepreneur. He has been a director of more than 50 companies.

Percy Avery Rockefeller was born to William Rockefeller and his wife Almira Geraldine Goodsell. He was the nephew of John D. Rockefeller .

He graduated from Yale University from 1897 to 1900 and was accepted into the Skull & Bones fraternity there. He then worked at Remington Arms, among others .

On April 23, 1901, he married Isabel Goodrich Stillman, daughter of James Stillman , President of First National City Bank (now Citibank ). His father was involved in this bank and controlled the company together with the Stillman family. Percy Avery Rockefeller ran the business together with his father from 1900 to 1922. PA Rockefeller was involved in the so-called ' Kreuger swindle' in 1932 , which resulted in losses of approximately 200 million US dollars.

Percy was buried in the mausoleum built by his father in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY.
